80MM ZEISS DISTAGON f/4.0 with Compur flash shutter. A normal lens designed on the retro focus principle - a principle ordinarily employed in wide-angle lens design to enable the lens to be positioned far enough forward from the camera body to permit the mirror swing to clear the rear of the lens. In the 80mm Distagon lens, this forward positioning permits the inclusion of a specifically designed Compur-Flash shutter with speeds of 1/30 to 1/500 second. This shutter is synchronized to operate at all speeds with either electronic flash or class M flashbulbs.
